Labour Market Research, Eastern Region

East England Arts has commissioned research into the labour market in the Eastern Region and is inviting all arts and cultural sector organisations and individuals working in the sector to send in their details. The research has been funded in part through the ESF programme and will aim to establish:

It is intended that the research will inform the work of a variety of regional agencies, including Go-East (the Government Office for the region), EEDA (the region’s Regional Development Agency), TECs/Business Links and the FE and HE education sectors. It will identify the range of employment opportunities available in the East of England, the training needs of the arts and cultural sector, and provide valuable information to agencies working to develop the cultural industries as a key part of the region’s economic development and regeneration.

The research is being carried out by Artservice, an independent arts consultancy. Artservice will be contacting a range of agencies and as many arts organisations based in the region as possible. The research will be disseminated through various means, including a regional symposium in June 2000.

Artservice is keen to obtain contact information for all arts and cultural sector organisations and individuals working in the sector, across all of the differing performing and visual arts, crafts, film and media areas, including people and organisations working in the private sector.
