The Pigs Release Peace Music Video: 'I've Got Santa Claus' on YouTube
Los Angeles, CA (Billboard Publicity Wire) December 13, 2006 -- Alt rockers, The Pigs, have just posted their video homage to World Peace, "I've Got Santa Claus," for viewing at:
YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGWy4Qg6xR4 or
MySpace: www.myspace.com/thepigsatmyspace
The tongue-in-cheek holiday ditty is also available as a MP3 download on their www.PeaceForXmas.com site. The song, which tells the tale of Santa hiding out until there's Peace on Earth, is available as a free download, or, for .99 cents as a donation toward world peace, with all net proceeds going to UnitedForPeace.org. As a further incentive to buy the download, all those making a donation by December 25 will have a chance at winning one of two Apple iPods. Winners will be announced on January 1, 2007.
The PIGS are featured artists for the month of December on AirPlay Direct and the track "I've Got Santa Claus," has been delivered to radio stations globally via AirPlay Direct's revolutionary, broadcast-quality delivery system to radio programmers and DJs (www.AirPlayDirect.com).
Head Pig and Disturbing Music label president Geoff Westen explains the campaign, "I can't stand to watch the news anymore. Or listen to our leaders tap dancing around the truth. It's time to stop mucking about and take a realistic look at the barriers preventing Peace on Earth and what steps need be taken to get around them.
"I want to create a forum at PeaceForXmas where concerned people can contribute their ideas of how to accomplish World Peace. I'm convinced that the best ideas for moving the peace effort forward will come from ordinary people with no political agenda--only a desire to live in harmony with their fellow human beings."
An additional donation to world peace can be made by buying a Disturbing Music "BE-Tee"--white cotton t-shirts that sport the peace-making suggestions: BE Tolerant, BE Here Now, BE Smart or BE Involved.
The PeaceForXmas website tells the whole sad story:
In case you haven't heard the shocking news, a world-weary Santa has resigned from his job and won't be accepting any wish lists this holiday season. He's turned over all North Pole operational responsibilities to his head Elves--they know what to do.
After hundreds of years of doing his bit, Santa's ideal of "Peace on Earth" still only has traction around the holidays. "The world today is a way smarter place then it used to be--yet we still have no clue how to all live together," Santa commented. "What's up with that?!"
He's fed up, and until we all start working together toward World Peace, he's done! We have it from reliable sources that Santa has hunkered down with his Disturbing friends The Pigs. The world is going down a slippery slope. Until there is Peace on Earth, Santa and Christmas will never be the same again. Wake Up World! No Peace? No Santa!
The Pigs' CD Oink! is available on Disturbing Music. For further information call 818.506.6201 or go to www.DisturbingMusic.com.
