14th Annual River Arts District Studio Stroll in Asheville, NC

Asheville, NC (PRWEB) October 9, 2007 -- The New York Times described the Asheville River Arts District as a historic collection of "attractively distressed, previously forsaken structures from Asheville's bygone industrial age." Twice a year, the second weekend of June and November, these picturesque architectural treasures open their doors to the public for two days for the River Arts District Studio Stroll.

Artists and artisans of all kinds are available to show and explain their skills, and to provide for sale goods that are not only handmade and exclusive, but part of a nationally recognized Western Carolina Arts Golden Age.

A river runs through it, and a railway as well, so if you need to rest your eyes from all that art, there's the beautiful French Broad River and the remnants of an age of iron and coal to clear your visual palate, while your actual palate may sample any of a number of outstanding River Arts District eateries.

The Studio Stroll runs Saturday and Sunday, November 10-11, from 10am to 6pm. There will be Information tents set up at the intersection of Clingman, Roberts, Depot, & Lyman Streets across from the Clingman Cafe, and at Roberts & Haywood Streets. Look for the yellow "Studio Stroll" flags and River Arts District sandwich boards outside each participating studio building. Admission is free, parking is easy and plentiful, and most studios are within walking distance. Full color maps with directions and a list of participating artists are available at the Asheville Chamber of Commerce, The Asheville Area Arts Council, at River Arts District studios and at galleries and other locations around town. Or plan your visit with the downloadable version of the Studio Guide available at http://www.riverdistrictartists.com
