South Padre Island, Texas (PRWEB) July 25, 2007 -- Rio Grande residents have been invited to buy three-day passes for the inaugural South Padre Island International Music Festival, Nov. 2-4, for a special 2-for-1 promotional price of $24 each (regularly-priced $48 three-day passes go on sale nationally Aug. 4) through GetTix.net.
More than 40 acts from three continents are set to perform at more than 10 venues during the three-day festival in one of America's southernmost coastal resorts. As of press time, the lineup features Robert Earl Keen, Reckless Kelly, Patrice Pike, Grupo Fantasma, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band and Ska Cubano. Other top regional, national and international talent representing genres including Americana, jazz, blues, folk, rock, funk, reggae, world beat and Latin will be showcased on several stages at island clubs, restaurants, hotels and beaches from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m. Local artists are encouraged to contact producers if they are interested in participating.
The South Padre Island Convention & Visitors Bureau (SPICVB) partnered with Austin-based GamePlan Marketing & Events to bring this incredible festival to life, which is expected to draw more than 15,000 visitors and island residents. This rich celebration of music and tropical flavor puts the island a cultural step above its Spring Break entertainment roots; and promises to be the Island's newest tradition on the calendar.
"Thousands of birds and music fans flying South to bask in warm Gulf breezes amidst some of the world's best music: It all happens on South Padre this November," says Tim Hayden, executive producer of the festival. "This will certainly be an indelible memory and enlightening experience for all who attend."
With daily temperatures in the mid- to low 80s and stunning November scenery and activities --- from fishing to water sports, birding to beach combing, miniature golf to movies --- South Padre also boasts gourmet dining, boutique shopping and variety of nightlife options.
